*edit* A customer service rep wrote back that the side panels are not currently offered for warranty replacement. They were promised they would eventually be available for purchase from their store, in which case I could contact them to arrange a free replacement whilst still under warranty. I appreciate this information but if it takes more than 6 months I have to pay, for now I have to live with it. Still an unacceptable situation at this price point, but at least they acknowledged it was a problem. If this replacement scenario plays out soon (and successfully), I'll update my review accordingly. Until then, there is one star (should be zero). I assumed they were moldings on the side of the case, befitting the premium price of this device, but it turns out they were just rubber pads glued to plastic, and that glue started to seal with body heat melt. Brilliant design. Even better when I submitted a request to have the door panels replaced (all the scrub pads are on the removable doors used to access the weight chambers) as this is my only mouse and the unit itself works fine they said me instead that my only option was to completely replace the RMA. What is this process you ask? Why do I have to painstakingly destroy a mouse piece by piece with very detailed photos of the resulting slaughter and serial numbers and then wait so many weeks for them to issue me a coupon and send a replacement from their website. Serious. It looks like you can get this from SteelSeries for 6 months and $80. My first and last experience with a brand.
