Review on Cooler Hinge Solution: Coleman Cooler Hinges for Durable and Reliable Performance by Swami Alcaraz

Revainrating 5 out of 5

It's a lot cheaper to buy new hinges than a new fridge.

I had two old Coleman coolers with broken plastic hinges. My large cooler had wheels, the smaller one didn't; both were at least 10 years old. I decided to buy new coolers, which turned out to be not as easy as I thought. The coolers seem to have grown over the years and are larger than I wanted given the storage space behind the front seats in my Ford F150. I finally found an Igloo Ice Box that was just the right size, but when I brought it home I found that its wheels were attached to the short sides, not the long ones. This meant the ice box had to be pulled across its width, and my two-car garage didn't have as wide an aisle. Also, my old fridge had a drain plug and the new one didn't. So I ordered a replacement hinge. The hinges fit both chests, they are easy to install, I saved over $50 and can still use the chests I know. Note: The model number is printed on the underside of each dresser and while the number on a dresser will not match the replacement number, the hinge dimensions and hole pattern will match the replacement hinge pattern. (If you plan to do this, save the broken loops for reference.)
