Review on πŸ–ŒοΈ Sakura Archival Brush Pens - 8 Piece Assorted Colors Set by Dawn Fischer

Revainrating 4 out of 5

For drawings only, not for magazines

I have Pigma Micron pens (black) and I LOVE them. I also have Pentel Sign Pens (in color) and I LOVE them. When Revane showed them to me, buying them was easy. I love sakura pens. Since these are brush pens, I naturally thought it would be a good combo between the brush pens and the fineline pens I already have. I think so, but it's very difficult. I would seriously only use them for art. They bleed through even the thickest pages of my notebook. (Not drawing/drawing pages, heavy notebook paper only). It's not really the grip's fault, it's just the way it's constructed. It is assumed that this is a brush pen that applies a lot of ink. I was just hoping it would be more like my Pentel pens that I already have. I still use them for art as I mentioned. They're smooth, don't stick to the paper at all, and the colors are incredibly vibrant. I really love that I was able to learn about different types of brush pens and add them to my collection. I don't think I would buy them again but ONLY because I don't make art very often. If they applied less ink or had a smaller brush head I would buy them again. Just because it didn't meet my needs doesn't mean it was a bad product.

Pros
  • Most papers are stain, feather and stain free
Cons
  • Available in black only
