The old cap caused many problems.
There was a problem with my old cap leaking. This cap has more threads and is much stronger. At first I thought it was the wrong cap but after looking closely and comparing it to the old one I tried it on and now NO LEAK! An old cap leak caused my water pump to die and it was leaking all over my air conditioning compressor clutch! I ordered a new compressor clutch for under $80 and installed it without evacuating the system. The old cap caused a lot of problems, but now everything is fixed. Hooray!
