There is space for lots of books and toys in this bookshelf. I replaced two small bags that held toys and books and freed up a lot of floor space with this bookshelf. It took me about 30 minutes to put it together and my husband only helped me a minute here and there. own Phillips screwdriver for assembly. One of the parts cracked when tightening the screw (picture). Most wood is 3/8" thick. Measures about 41.5" tall, although it can slip out 2-3+ inches larger if there are books in it. It is 23 7/8" wide and 11 5/8" " deep. The cabinet and shelf above is just under 11 inches tall. I like the doors but the hardware is plastic and I think I'll be replacing them with something more permanent soon. It's a great space saver, bright colors and a cute one Design but I'm afraid to move it while the books are still on it, even just a few inches because the wood itself wasn't the strongest when assembling it.
