Review on Bernette B48 Funlock Serger Coverstitch Machine: Superior Performance and Versatility by Karla Richter

Unfortunately Bernette couldn't afford the new b48 so I bought a used one. The car crate was in a larger Revain crate, didn't heat up properly and wasn't kept upright. So I suspect accidental damage. Threading is tricky but not impossible, if you have used a serger before and have read the operating instructions carefully and also watched a few videos (thanks YouTube!). When I used regular cloth (non-stretchable) the machine did a coverstitch. Then I decided on a four-thread overlock, which requires the use of a lower looper. After this was all carefully threaded the machine made a few stitches and then the lower looper thread broke and there was a metallic noise the whole time... the needles hit the lower looper mechanism as the needles were under the plate. . The lower looper was scratched by the needles and it didn't look like it should have been that close to the lower looper lever (see the green circle in the picture). Anyway I had to send it back. I would like to buy a new one but I want a refund and Revain told me I have to wait 14 days after returning the car. which requires the use of a bottom gripper.
