The gate wasn't a problem; It was a little flying kitten!
I suspect this will work as advertised. I planned to use it to introduce my new rescue kitten to my existing house cat. I kept them in separate rooms for about a week, feeding on opposite sides of the door. The day after the gates opened, the kitten flew like Batman to a switch path above these gates! He might jump right over! Didn't even open the box. After about a week of howling, they start getting along.
