I bought this for my wife's 24x1.75 bike, I've tried another before but it was very large, this one fits this wheel size well. Noise when you use a mountain tire, if you feel it, this bike had it since they didn't use it in winter, swap the rear tire for a smoother track tire and the noise is gone and the pedaling is smoother. As for the rear axle, it's fixed to my bike, I can't remove it, but it's perfect for this type of axle too. Suffice it to say, while I still have more to try, it seems reliable, easy to install and adjustable for smaller bikes, a good investment.
