A clean, effective solution to an old problem!

I didn't have high hopes for this little guy because of his small stature, low price and what I found to be very cheap materials. But for the price (and the promise of free returns), I thought it was worth a try. I am happy to report that I was very pleased with his work. I'm a composer/engineer and also do a lot of voice acting. I ran a lengthy voice session last night using just this one as a pop filter, after extensively testing its intended purpose of removing explosives. The case was great! It wasn't too bad to mount it on a large condenser mic and use it for side address positioning. It's definitely a minimalist design, but the construction feels good enough to last. Shipping was fast, it was well packaged and the "chemical smell" mentioned in the review wasn't even a problem. There was a slight smell when I first opened the box, but that's what I call a "new machine smell" and I really like it. By the way, after unpacking, it quickly faded. I figured I should at least use one of the traditional "pantyhose on a hanger" pop filter in front of this unit, but I quickly found that it wasn't necessary at all. I've popped the screen many times during sound testing (harder than I've ever had to do in a real session), and this thing prevented them all. I don't think this prevents unwanted noise or noise in the room, so I use a large screen attached to a mic stand to achieve this. Mids (I have a deep baritone) but that's more of a nitpick which I corrected with a bit of EQ to make that part of the spectrum punchier. In general, I love this shop! This is a great solution to a cumbersome and sometimes very inefficient solution.
