We can't comment on this other than that it can tell you if the socket is working or not. I ordered this because I was remodeling outlets in my house and the switches they plug into don't always make sense which has resulted in me electrocuting myself on a number of occasions. It works as advertised, is reasonably priced and well worth it if you plan on turning off lights etc. Safety first!
