Review on Manfrotto Compact Extreme Monopod Pole by Chris Dildine

Revainrating 3 out of 5

WORTHY WITH A SERIOUS DESIGN Flaw

Nice lightweight monopod. Bought to use with my Fuji X-e3 on city walks and in the woods. Has a comfortable hand feel and quick release buckles for easy and quick extension. I like to use it to carry my camera without a shoulder strap. However, you will lose the small rubber foot. It screws on and although I kept tightening it due to warnings I still lost it. I understand camera hardware breaking and parts falling off, but this is particularly annoying because Manfrotto doesn't offer replacement accessories and the 1/4" screw is external so it's not immediately compatible with original replacement parts. I just ordered a keg. Plug and a new leg, so it costs me $20 and my tripod gets 1.5 inches longer and built haphazardly. Maybe that's okay because the monopod could use a few extra inches anyway, but it costs almost half the price of a tripod so I wish I had more than a buck on me - now I'm throwing good money away. after bad.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • weak
