I bought this camera for a child about a year ago. I wanted to take the time to find this out before submitting a review. I was looking for a cheap camera that takes decent pictures and from a brand known for their cameras, or at least electronics. There are a few cameras from a trusted brand that cost less than $100. The only cameras for kids are more like toys and have a resolution of around 1MP, so this was our best find. The camera is compact, easy to use and takes decent pictures, especially for the price. The video is intermittent, the autofocus is constantly audible. While I didn't buy the camera for its video capability, which is one of the kids' favorite features, it's important to know if you're into video. it's out of the box. We quickly bought batteries. I would say the battery life is 15-20 minutes even with regular non-rechargeable batteries. That's normal for playing at home, but when we're taking pictures on vacation or camping, it would be very annoying. Do not buy this camera if you will be using it to take pictures for a long time. If you are looking for a first camera for a child (5-9 years old) that can be used for a short time, fine. I agree with other reviews that turning the batteries off between uses also helps extend battery life, which is ridiculous. Too bad the battery life isn't better, I was hoping we could use this camera for a long time.
