I am a professional network engineer and have soldered a lot over the past several decades, be it computers, game consoles, electrical wiring and even electrical wiring for cars and golf carts. . This time I had a very specific need as I needed to fix a stretched wire on a chain of Lego bricks with LED lights. So when I started looking for a micro tip for my ten year old soldering iron I just decided it was time to get a good soldering station instead. I really wanted $180 to be honest, but it was a great financial compromise/alternative and it's a really good transmitter. I was able to quickly fix the lighted Lego using the tiny micro tip that came with the kit. I am sure that I will be very happy with it for future projects.
