I love these lanterns. In my almost 50 years of life I have never been so happy about garlands. I have had several sets of these lights for four years. I have these with and without globes and have used them with and without extension cords. I've used them on my Christmas tree, around windows (inside and out), along walls, over curtains, on the mantel and on the porch. Whether indoors or outdoors, they have never let me down. I trust them so much that I left the rounds, so for the last two years I've drawn the curtains in my house and worked in both the kitchen and dining room all year round. They turn on and off every day without my participation. As the days get longer or shorter, I just press the green button once to turn the light on or off to set a new start time, and that's it! I really couldn't be happier with the purchase of these lights. When I first bought them, I thought they were a bit pricey. Of course there were and are cheaper flashlights, but they have worked well for me so far. Maybe it's the 30 watt converter? Maybe it keeps them from overheating or blowing out the bulbs because I haven't burned any bulbs yet (knock wood) and they don't use much power either. Their year-round operation hasn't had a noticeable impact on my electric bill, maybe even less because I no longer have to use a lamp all night in these rooms. I've never had to use the remote so I can't really comment on this feature, but I can attest to the good value and reliability of the product myself.
