The picture quality through the viewfinder is fantastic

After Canon confirmed that the EVF-DC2 is the replacement for the EVF-DC1, I bought the DC2. I'm using it on a Canon Powershot G1X Mark II. Before using the DC2 you need to update the G1X firmware by connecting it to a computer and downloading the new firmware for the DC2. The EVF-DC2 has the same features as the DC1 except it doesn't tilt, but I don't see that as a problem. The picture quality through the viewfinder is fantastic. It shows all the necessary settings, levels, histograms, etc. The camera's LCD screen turns off when you look at the electronic viewfinder and turns on again when you look away. This feature can be disabled in the camera menu. EVF-DC2 can be adjusted for glasses. Everything you see on the LCD is shown in the electronic viewfinder, there is no picture adjustment. All menus and photos taken can also be viewed in the viewfinder. I wear glasses with transition lenses, so when shooting outdoors in bright light I couldn't see any detail on the LCD screen, even at maximum brightness. The EVF-DC2 solves this problem because I can see everything through the viewfinder even with glasses on. went into complete darkness. I also reduce glare from above by wearing a baseball cap. I plan on keeping the EVF-DC2 permanently attached to my camera, so I bought a slightly larger camera case for it. Ultimately, the EVF-DC2 is the perfect and much-needed complement to the G1X Mark II. EVF-DC2 can be adapted for glasses.
