Thanks to my knowledge gained in practice, I found this viewfinder to be a complete waste of money. The low resolution, poor color accuracy, and limited compatibility with cameras make it a bad investment.

After reading other reviews of the Canon M6 I bought a viewfinder! I wear auto-darkening glasses when out in the sun, which makes it very difficult to see the rear LED screen. The viewfinder is attached to the camera (there is a release button) and allows you to see the full screen! The LED screen on the back of the camera dims as your eye gets closer to the viewfinder. After Canon confirmed that the EVF-DC2 is the replacement for the EVF-DC1, I bought the DC2. I'm using it on a Canon Powershot G1X Mark II. Before using the DC2 you need to update the G1X firmware by connecting it to a computer and downloading the new firmware for the DC2. The EVF-DC2 has the same features as the DC1 except it doesn't tilt, but I don't see that as a problem. The picture quality through the viewfinder is fantastic.
