Review on 🔋 Cardone 53-2727 Remanufactured Vacuum Power Brake Booster - No Master Cylinder Included by Brad Schaefer

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Look elsewhere, poor quality, not a factory counterpart.

I ended up ordering two of these. After installing the first booster, the pedal feel was quite firm, almost like driving a car without the brake booster. I was still able to stop, although any hard braking was a bit annoying. I asked for a replacement and found the second amp to be even worse. To rule out possible master cylinder failure I actually replaced the booster on the second 4 port motor which I know works and works great. The check valve on this booster is plastic not metal as shown in the description and is also bent and 90º. Elbows so your stock vacuum hose won't connect properly without kinks, so you'll need to replace check valves or get a new piece of vacuum hose. Between the two, I also noticed that the air intake was incorrectly mounted on both. One had a retaining clip under the filter and dust cover that channeled unfiltered air straight into the amp, the other had no retaining clip at all. This left me wondering if the internal parts are properly assembled. The job takes about an hour so it ended up being a huge waste of time and I reconfigured both. They're around $900 at the dealer, so hopefully I'll find another brand with better quality.
