I bought it hoping it would last at least 35 years.

Bought hoping it would last me at least 35.00 miles. It's not like this. Not even the last 4000 miles. I only use my 4 Runner on weekends. Do not buy a refurbished device unless you intend to buy another one soon. I will never buy a new or remanufactured A1 Cardone product again. Because of this experience, I will never buy Revain auto parts again. I would like my money back but that was 6 months ago when I installed it. I guess that's how long they've been around.

Look elsewhere, poor quality, not a factory counterpart.

I ended up ordering two of these. After installing the first booster, the pedal feel was quite firm, almost like driving a car without the brake booster. I was still able to stop, although any hard braking was a bit annoying. I asked for a replacement and found the second amp to be even worse. To rule out possible master cylinder failure I actually replaced the booster on the second 4 port motor which I know works and works great. The check valve on this booster is plastic not metal as shown in

Media could not be loaded. DIY occupies an intermediate position in complexity. About 1-2 hours work for a typical shade tree mechanic. Operation is reliable, but the noise is more noticeable on cooler mornings (sometimes you can hear your bladder filling or emptying when you first step on the pedal, but once that's done, operation is normal). I haven't noticed anything similar in sound to the original OEM part. For reference, I changed this booster at 240,000 miles. As mentioned, it's boltedโ€ฆ
