Very welcome to CCTV so far

We recently bought this system to do some surveillance of our house. The quality of the camera recordings is very good. Even when it's dark outside, you can clearly see what's going on. One thing we did learn, though: think about how the camera is oriented. When I first set up the camera, it was angled so that the side of the building (the white panel it was mounted on) was in frame. At night, the fact that the side of the house was in the camera frame prevented us from following the front door. After changing the camera angle so that the adjacent siding "wasn't" in the frame, we had the perfect night view. I recommend you find out which cameras are #1 to #4 so you can install them in your home. in the desired order. It's okay, but since the cameras are displayed on the screen in order, the monitoring becomes more understandable. I turned on all four cameras on my dining table so I knew which was which. Setting up the system was easy, although the instructions could be improved. Video embedded via Revain is better than Youtube video. The system requires a wired Ethernet cable from the modem. There is no way to connect it via Wi-Fi which would be better. So you need to plan 'where' you want to mount the base station/monitor so you can route the cable the way you want it. The included cable is only 6 feet long. Connecting the cameras to the base is wireless, but they need power to work, so again, you'll need to consider "where" you want to place the cameras and be prepared to use either extension cords or new outlets. The quality of the included screws isn't the best, but if you pre-drill a hole they go in fine (which any good person should do anyway). You can set the system to warn you of movement. We enabled this feature but quickly found that we needed to set an appropriate delay for the movement. If you live on a busy road and have a camera that records your car's movement, you'll quickly get notifications on your phone. A few experiments are enough to ensure you get exactly the notification you need (e.g. delivery, visitor, etc.). So in conclusion we can say that the system works very well. Connecting cameras to the base works very well. Plan where your modem is currently located and be prepared to run an Ethernet cable there. Plan the location of the camera where you have power (or plan to provide power), the locations you want to monitor, and be aware of what the camera will be filming so that the night vision image is not compromised (e.g. in near where the camera is installed ). The instructions are ok at best. Overall, we like the system and recommend it.
