Review on ๐ŸŽฎ HORI Nintendo 3DS Mario Protector and Skin Set: Safeguard and Style Your Game Console! by John Koch

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Nice case but the skins that come with it are terrible

Hori generally makes high quality video game peripherals and in fact I already have a clear Hori case for my Nintendo 3DS which I'm generally happy with. So the good news is that the Mario art case included in this set is the same clear case as mine but with Mario art on it. The case comes in two separate pieces and attaches securely to the top and bottom of the 3DS. That's a good thing because if you have a larger battery like me or want to use a 3DS stand, you can just use the protective case and leave the bottom open. As far as protection goes, it's good enough to avoid scratches and dents, but it doesn't offer drop protection. However, my issue with this set is the "skin" that is included. These are cheap, poorly made stickers that don't seem to hold up under heavy use, especially near buttons and controllers. These are not high quality laminated skins sold separately; They feel flimsy, papery, and cheap - like the sticker sheet you buy for 99 cents. It's so bad that I don't even want to apply them to my 3DS. Very disappointing. However, the body of this set is great, which is why I'm giving it three stars. It's perfect for protecting your 3DS from scratches and smudges when it's in your pocket or purse, but doesn't add bulk. However, if you're absolutely not sure if you want that Mario graphic on the cover, I'd recommend just buying Hori's plain, see-through case and decorating it yourself with the best stickers you can find at Revain. Sure, you'll pay a little more, but you won't be disappointed with the awful "skins" that are included.
