(This is woman speaking) I have several Kitchen Aid appliances - a stand mixer, a toaster oven, now a food processor. After using a lower capacity processor from another manufacturer for several years, I decided to upgrade to a higher capacity model. I've been happy with other KA lights so what could go wrong? The feed tube could have failed, that's what. Had the manual clearly stated the location of the filler neck when attaching the work bowl lid, this would have been a five star rating. But it's not, and after spending a decade with a stand mixer that is *not* picky about the position of the feed spout, it never occurred to me that position could make the difference between a stand mixer and a sleek one makes a paperweight. My oldest daughter used it first (several times) and reported no problems. Many months later, when my daughter went to college, I stopped talking about it. If I called her, she would probably tell me about the feeding tube, or she might not. She, the righteous maiden of the food processor, probably assembled it the way the pictures look and never realized that the feeding tube had to be in that exact position (six o'clock, woe to those who need a digital clock to tell the time) to eat. In the meantime, I came to this device spoiled by a light-hearted, addictive feed tube that gave me action in every position, so my actual use of this device was random. I thought I was. Am I not good enough? It worked for my daughter every time - maybe it's just for young women and you can't mess with an old woman if she really doesn't want to? But no. That's not me. This is one unit. He just wants to work with the bowl lid hopper always in the same position. Sigh. Apart from that, it's a great car. I won't be switching it to a different model anytime soon; I just wave my weird flag with another device.
