Same great shave as all TOBS creams. If you're a fan of a certain $400 perfume bottle that rhymes with Shmeed Shmaventus, you can shave with Royal Forest scent. TOBS, even under torture, will not admit that this scent is fake. When you have a royal warrant for your business, you don't have to sell your perfume in unmarked bottles on the street corner. But you mention no resemblance between your shaving cream and a chart-topping scent. So let's not talk about that except to say that the scent of Royal Forest is very pleasant. Performance - TOBS. You always forget how little you need and create too much. Then add enough water for maximum smoothness, protection and "conditioner" and you have enough lather to shave 3 or 4 men. Remember, a little goes a long way with this stuff. Once you dip the brush into the foam and the cream lathers well, the smoothness and softness will be great. The remaining smoothness depends on how much water you added. If you have a thick lather, the residual smoothness will be incredible, but it will take you longer to rinse out the razor. The trick is finding a balance between thick enough for lasting bliss and thin enough for easy cleaning. After a few days of practice, you'll get a feel for what you're aiming for, and you'll get there just by adding a few drops of water to the foam and whisking it with a brush. Discover the perfect TOBS consistency with a taste that is the same across the line. It's easy to do and get it right. This cream loves soft water but is also great for hard water. Your water will most likely work with it to create an excellent, smooth foam. The scent is mild after the bath, medium on the brush and stays delicious throughout the shave. Does not remain after rinsing. If you want the scent to last a little longer, Captain's Choice Venture Aftershave is just about perfect, or you can use Fine's Platinum if you're looking for a mild Menthol Cool with a similar scent profile. Or you can spend $400 for the original. I like the TOBS cream a little more than the Captain's Choice Venture cream, but both really deliver a nice shave. I'm almost out of my venture pot so I use this and then I take this TOBS bath. Recommended.
