I used this H381806-R18 aluminum wire with my Hobart 140 manipulator to make some tack welds and some small seams to repair some broken 1/8" aluminum plates and elbows. The chart for my welder only lists the .030" aluminum filler wire he can use, so I chose that instead of the heavier .035" aluminum wire. This wire must be used with Argon and MIG shielding gas. The gun insert and contact tip in my H-10 gun also needed to be replaced to prevent carbon contamination from the flux cored steel wire normally used worked considering how much it costs i think it was a good economical ohmic choice.
