I have had problems with acne since I was a teenager. Birth control pills controlled it for years but recently I stopped taking them so my skin was in a terrible state! I get cystic bumps around my jaw and on my chin. I can't seem to stop plucking them so they turn red/purple and sore and sore. I tried every over the counter remedy I could find. I was about to see a dermatologist when my sister-in-law recommended PCA Skin Blemish Control Bar. I can't say enough about how much this has helped my complexion! You wash your face and leave the foam on your skin for two minutes with the supplied sponge. The sponge is a bit abrasive (although not overly) and the lather is very creamy and thick. The smell is very medicinal but not offensive. You only get two sponges in the pack, so you have to reuse them. I wash my face and then rinse the sponge well. I keep it on a perforated soap dish so it dries well. The package says you should use it twice a day. I started using it twice a day but found it too dry. Now I only use it once a day - in the shower. I wash my face and then style my hair, leaving lather on my skin. I used PHaze 7: Protecting Hydrator SPF 25, which is also recommended by SIL, but honestly I think any good moisturizer will do. (My skin gets a little flaky when I don't use moisturizer at all.) Then I apply makeup as usual (I use the Bare Escentuals Get Started Kit, Medium/Medium Beige). At night I just use Neutrogena Liquid Pump 8 fl oz facial cleansing formula and then moisturizer again. After about two weeks I started noticing improvements. I've been using it for about two months now. I still get breakouts every now and then, but now I get "normal" pimples instead of the cysts I usually get. My skin was a bit dry but excess oil was never my problem. If you have oily skin, this will likely help with this problem as well as acne. I also noticed a reduction in blackheads. The price is a little scary. I haven't finished the can yet. I expect it to last around ten to twelve weeks and maybe longer if used once a day. I'm done looking for a cure for acne! That worked wonders for me! I would recommend this to everyone.
