This kit costs more than its price

This FluidMaster kit contains everything you need to replace all the flush elements in your toilet cistern (you will not receive a line connecting the cistern to the wall or floor valve). This is the 2" tank flush valve hole where the flush valve connects to the tank (the part with the red flap that pops open when you press the flush lever). Some toilets have 3" valves, but 2" valves are much more common. Check yours before you buy or return them. I was replacing a 22 year old Danco flush system that had an old style float ball on the end of the rod to keep the water flowing and shut it off. My toilet sometimes worked endlessly after a flush and I could probably just play with the old one, clean some of the old parts or just replace the flapper and chain, but everything in my flush tank was pretty dirty so I just got this whole set for 19 bought dollars to bring everything to new condition. I really liked this FluidMaster kit because it easily adapts to any toilet cistern with a 2" drain hole between the cistern and the toilet. The height of the flow tube, the amount of water in the tank used for flushing and the water level in the toilet. The whole work took about 1 hour after I removed the old parts to finish installing the new parts. The FluidMaster is not a loud flush, but it is not the quietest either. The original Danby flush took about 60 seconds to complete a flush cycle, this FluidMaster took about 90 seconds. However, when I first connected the FluidMaster kit, it took me almost 2 minutes to flush and I felt like a lot of water was wasted. But the FluidMaster kit comes with that little twist valve on the bowl's fill tube (it's the little tube that injects water into the overflow tube to refill the bowl). This adjustable valve allows you to limit the flow of water back into the bowl while the tank fills. Leaving it wide open makes more noise when refilling, takes longer to refill the tank (because it diverts some of the water flow from the supply line to fill the bowl), and more water is wasted when the maximum water level is reached in the bowl before the tank is full, causing excess water to flow into the waistline. After I limited or slowed the flow rate of this pouring line into the bowl, it quieted down and reduced the time I had to hear toilet noises by about 30 seconds (your results may vary). This might not be a big deal to some, but this toilet is in our main bathroom and our bed is only 15 or 20 feet away, so it was a nice customization feature for our use. The only thing I didn't use in this kit is the new lever and lever flush grip that attaches to the shock with a small chain. The original that came with my toilet was nice chrome metal and was still in good condition, but the new one in the kit was chrome plastic which didn't impress me and probably weighs less than an ounce. I would not recommend using a new lever if your old one is in good condition. Your old one will work well with the other new components in the tank.
