The company impressed me the most. A bit unusual for a cheap product, but it's really welcome. The suggested process for opening and closing the decanter is a little different than what I'm used to, but with a little practice it really is worth minimal effort. I think I've actually solved one of those pesky problems of finding a great carafe. Addendum: There was splashing when opening the lid, and at the same time the lid was a bit difficult to open. The owner of Pykal wrote and explained how to adjust the orifice part and as for spraying she gave me some advice that works. When opening the lid, make sure that part of your thumb rests on the lid. This facilitates the opening process and eliminates ANY splashes. Great product and even better company behind it.
