Fiberglass everywhere! Do not remove the "washable " cover!

I have had this mattress for over 2 years now and the memory foam is better than I expected for the price. It has had a slight odor since I bought it, but it has never bothered me enough to try to fix it. Well I had some free time and decided to take off the outer cover and wash it according to the tag. BIG MISTAKE. Underneath the outer shell is an "inner shell" which is actually just woven fiberglass (as a flame retardant). This fiberglass appears to collapse during normal use, filling out the outer shell. So when you wash this cover, you just spread fiberglass all over it. I didn't notice it at first because it's so pretty, but after struggling to sleep and breathe for a few days, I took a very bright flashlight to eye level and I could see millions of little fibers all over my room. Obviously on my sheets, but on all the clothes in my closet, on every surface imaginable. I vacuumed for hours (using a HEPA vacuum), tried washing the sheets several times, but ended up throwing them out as the fibers can't even be removed. They penetrated the fabric. I vacuumed the bed with the duvet and vacuumed all the surfaces in my room as well as all the clothes in the closet. Finally it seemed to me that I would pull myself together. It's been about a month since I did this deep cleanse and I'm having trouble breathing again. I whipped out my flashlight to see the fibers had broken through the coating again and were circulating around my room again. They have covered my comforter and are appearing on multiple surfaces. I can't afford a new mattress right now and am moving soon, so I need to try and find a mattress pad that can hopefully hide the terrible design choices this mattress made. Warning everyone, do not under any circumstances remove the "washable" outer cover!
