I don't normally make my own connectors in this small form factor, but I needed a cable with a wiggle pin configuration at short notice. Make sure you use a quality cable and fast soldering time (you'll burn it if you leave it on for too long) and don't expect this to be a good first project. Complaints, but I've seen other Chinese 8-pin mini-din connectors that have deeper indentations for wire connections. In my opinion this would make it easier to use by more people with lesser skills. Don't blame the connector for lack of capabilities, but understand its shortcomings before you start your project. If you don't think (or don't think), you have the skills. Take an 8 pin mini din cable and cut it in half and work directly with the wires when the pins you need are connected. Most Revain cables have a pinout along with the cables so you can make sure the connector is connected to the physical cable. Or grab a few, know you're going to fool around, and practice.
