Poor quality plastic very difficult to use

The plastic used to separate the contacts melted instantly with my soldering iron at 375C which I thought was too low. It literally took less than a second of contact with my smallest tip to completely melt the plastic and ruin the connector (the pin fell out completely). Also, there is no solder on the back of the pins. Instead, there are MINUSCULE holes that won't even fit 30 AWG wire. I'm not sure if a single strand of 30 AWG copper will fit in the hole. I'm sure there is a master soldererโ€ฆ

The cable and connectors on this product appear to be of good quality and are ideal if you have a black PS/2 keyboard. Other cable options are typically "grey" or "yellow-white," and if you're stuck with a wired keyboard in 2020, you might want to spend a little more to get a cable that matches the keyboard. Also, modern motherboards may still include a PS/2 port, in which case a PS/2 keyboard is most helpful when troubleshooting USB issues. The additional six feet allow you to connect aโ€ฆ

The wire caps could be a little deeper but will work if you have the skills.

I don't normally make my own connectors in this small form factor, but I needed a cable with a wiggle pin configuration at short notice. Make sure you use a quality cable and fast soldering time (you'll burn it if you leave it on for too long) and don't expect this to be a good first project. Complaints, but I've seen other Chinese 8-pin mini-din connectors that have deeper indentations for wire connections. In my opinion this would make it easier to use by more people with lesser skills. 8-pin jack assembly

8-pin socket. Yes, the wires need to be soldered. It really helps to use an auxiliary device to solder the wire to the connector. Also tin the wire before inserting it into the holes. Use a small 15 to 25 watt soldering iron. When you first receive the connector, note that you remove the outer casing, then the first inner black plastic sleeve just gently slides out and then the inner shield pulls back. Before soldering wires, don't forget to put the outer sheath on the wire. Solder and assemble
