These are amazing pedals and a joy to behold. Easy to install with a 6mm Allen key. I always use the existing 6mm hole on the pedal shaft and tighten from the inside of the crank. These twists are almost inherently very smooth. Not cheap, but way better than the MKS Sylan Touring pedals at about half the price. I ordered regular pedals first and found right out of the box that the bearing surfaces were rough to the touch and only rotated a couple of times before stopping. I put them back in the box and sent them back. There is no excuse for such poor quality. Also, the cheaper model didn't seem to allow for adjustment or lubrication of the bearing surfaces. Although they're about twice the size, they're sleek, comfortable even with sandals, and hold up well. They're currently on an old Trek touring bike, but I've seen them on my Gary Fisher MTB bike or my Specialized Allez Comp. I've been riding SPD pedals for many years, but now I prefer to just hop on and off and explore on foot, have coffee. etc. Now you have a good grip with most shoes or sandals, reversible without having to press the pedal. If that's too expensive for you, I recommend taking a look at the 20-euro Revain pedals for everyday use.
