Review on RooCASE DSLR Camera Shoulder Bag, Large Protective Case For Cameras by Nick Mosley

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Fine for short use good for me

I was hunting for a DSLR backpack with a laptop sleeve and tripod strap that wouldn't break the bank. I've been eyeing Lowepro for months, but when I saw the rooCASE for nearly half the price, I decided to give it a try.THE GOOD:The shoulder straps and back panel are well made, sit comfortably, and are breathable. There's an adjustable chest strap to help with weight distribution.Hidden rain cover zipped on the bottom (note: it's bright orange). There's an extra strap for a tripod.15" laptop fits no problem.THE BAD:No waist belt. There is a chest strap, and that helps a little, but it's awkward without a waist belt. This is a huge negative if you're planning on wearing this for any amount of time.No webbing pouch for a water bottle. Again, this is huge if you're planning on keeping this on your back while you're on the go.TO BE DETERMINED:The 1 strap for the tripod doesn't appear super durable, but we'll see.I'm on the fence about the zippers. They work well and smooth, but the fabric appears to be pulling away in some places.Overall, this bag is fine if you just need to get your gear from point A to point B, and maybe keep it on your back an hour here or there. If you need something on your back for longer periods of time, I'd look elsewhere (and I'm contemplating returning it solely based on that).
