WHY SILK PILLOWS: Now I'm quite addicted to silk pillowcases :(I love the feel of them, the fact that my hair is NO longer frizzy and the smoothness/coolness of the fabric). Can I say they are better than ALL other silk cases? I do not know. BUT I ordered several OLESILK and RAVMIX and was very satisfied :) The price for standard and king size is good, so it all depends on what color I "need" (I only use 1 of each as extra/accent pillow - to match the wraps and blankets I currently use = 5 pillows per queen bed, 5. Silk in the center and it looks lovely when the bed is made). I love almost all colors, they are great, but I can't afford them all. Rschunimagu. So I pick a different one every few months that I keep an eye on. SIZE: If you have "regular" sized pillows that you've bought over the past few years, most of them are the new medium standard/queen size (20x28) versus 20x26 (standard) or 20x30 (Queen). I RECOMMEND PURCHASING A KING SIZE BODY. So it won't be as tight on your pillow and shouldn't pull at the seams/ends. CARE: I love these beauties. I change every 2 weeks (our bedding schedule) and as soon as I have 2-3 things to wash I hand wash in my (clean) sink using a wool cloth (any SILK wash versus regular detergent) and several times in COLD water. Minimum. Just old school style, squeezing the covers together and sliding them back and forth, forcing water through the fibers/weave of the fabric. Again just a few minutes (maybe 3 minutes) of a COOL/COLD rinse. Gently wring out the water and then MORE CAREFULLY wring out and DRY (2 on a trouser hanger with clips). They don't dry very long. When I only had one blanket I washed it during the day and when I fell asleep it was dry. EASY TO TAKE WITH YOU / WHEN I TRAVEL: I also take a case with me when I travel (it's light and airy) so that I have a little bit of luxury from home and my hair and face are happy too. It really reduced frizz (combined with NO boar bristle combs - the hair cuticle was constantly being pinched and damaged). Again I have a few/several products from this brand - the colors are nice, the price is good, they look good when hung out to dry and washed well (lighter colors sometimes show the shadows/shine of my face creams when I apply them on heavy winter / drying moss). I hope I met my expectations by getting the silk cases.
