Review on 🏕️ Optimized Lightweight Dehydrated Chicken Gumbo for Backpacking and Camping: Quick and Easy Meal Solution by Chris Endricko

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Disappointing good outdoor product

First of all I've been looking for better camping dining options for a while and maybe after reading the rave reviews I had set the bar high. Problems: 1. "Spicy", "New Orleans" or "Creole" are good words to add to the name. At the Louisiana party, I make gumbo, which is usually a bland chicken soup. Despite all the misinterpretations on my part, it was very hot and I eat a lot of very spicy Thai etc. We made it, but it was tough. 2. Hot was the only taste. The low sodium came at the expense of any other flavor. I keep seeing reviews that say "really tasty". Disagree at all.3. Rehydration was inconsistent. Followed directions to the letter and got chewy, semi-hydrated okra, chicken, and congee.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Unusable features
