I have the original cabeau pillow and wanted to try it because the original is sometimes hot on the neck. My original cabeau also broke in two at the nape of the neck where the foam is thinnest and weakest, so I wanted to try something new. I like the Evolution Cool's thin profile, it offers good support and better ventilation than the original. I was able to use it comfortably on the plane and in the car, but the big downside is that when I removed the outer cover for washing, I found that the inner foam was already torn in several places, quite deep in some places. Seems whoever takes the foam off the molds and stuffs them into the boxes at the factory was very rough on her. I've ordered another one to see if it's better and it was also torn in a couple of spots, one of which was at the very back where the foam is thinnest/weakest and could easily lead to more tears with regular use . The lather seems very gentle overall so I don't know about the durability of this item although it works quite well. The foam density also seems to be inconsistent when I compare the first and second Evolution Cool pillows I bought. I would consider keeping it if I could start with one that has no cracks or imperfections, but I don't want to start with a new pillow that is already damaged, especially at a premium price.
