AMBER MAX - They're dark

Why are these blue light glasses causing such controversy? Some love them. Some say they are useless. Some say it's overpriced junk. I sort of agree with the last one. I find them a bit overpriced, but so are a lot of things designed for gaming. I've been using a pair of Gunnar Phantom Onyx Marco for 4-5 years? years or so. They help me with fatigue and eye strain for a longer period of time than when I'm not using them, but everyone reacts to light differently. Phantoms should be very light and flexible, fully enclosing the eyes. They are designed to fit under large on-ear headphones without interfering with the cup seal. When I have headphones on they stay in place but without them they will move around and I have found that they just get in the way. This is where intercepts come into play. They are a bit more traditional with their hand shape. I don't think they bother the headphones at all. They sit very well on my head and the nose pads are comfortable for ME. Not everyone will like them. These are glasses, not a t-shirt. When you go to the eye doctor's office, try on a dozen pairs to see what suits you because they sit on your face all day. They have to forget to wear glasses or they'll end up in a drawer. They are durable but look like cheap sunglasses. The lenses cover just enough to fill my peripheral vision, which is important to me. They have a lower magnification than my old phantoms, which I also like. I have an amber high and they are quite dark. I got used to it after about a day, but at first I encountered things in dimly lit rooms. They're basically lightweight sunglasses, but I like them. I sit in front of 4 large monitors that flood me with light. If you run a laptop internally, you might not choose the maximum one. Regular amber filters out a decent amount of blue light. Here's a quick way to see how they work! If you have a tinted bulb or other color-changing light, set it to blue and put on your glasses. The brightness of the light will decrease. Change the light to say purple. If you have Amber Max glasses, you should see them change to pink. Turquoise turns light green. This is demonstrated by glasses that block blue light from passing through the lens. It's like a black and white photo filter for your eyes. One thing to note, if you rely on your eyes for color work, don't get tinted. You will change the color a bit as above. The amber color shifts very slightly, and the maximum color shifts a lot. It seems obvious but thought I'd just post it there.
