bought for the new Cat 5e connections I'm using in my house. What's good: Most importantly, the connections work. The board looks like in the photo. Supplied with colour-coordinated plastic screw caps to hide the screws. They look the same as in the photo. Now for the rest. The biggest problem with this record is the installation. The Phillips screw heads provided with the plate are smaller than the "regular" size used in most wall plates, and the metal is soft so the screw heads come loose easily if you use a "regular" Phillips screwdriver. Even when I switched to a suitably sized flathead screwdriver, the screws kept coming loose because the slots were too small for a good grip. I pushed almost hard enough to snap the low voltage box and yet I barely managed to get 3 of the 4 screws all the way in and they all loosened a bit. The last screw is exposed and will never turn again, but luckily I screwed it in *just* deep enough for the screw cover to sit flush against it. As for the connectors themselves, the panel has RJ45 connectors on both sides. It's fine if you already have a connector at the end of the cable, but if you're pulling in a new cable I don't see how that could be. It would be much easier to use quick fasteners in a blind panel. Instead, I had to install new RJ45 connectors at the ends of each drop cable, which took more time. If you can find an 8 port connector I would recommend using it with RJ45 quick connectors - I only bought this plate because I couldn't find one.
