Review on Sunpie Headlight Passing Davidson Motorcycle by Rusty Smith

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Looks great works on Part

Bought for my '99 Road King. All of the reviews I have read have described these lamps fairly accurately. Looks great, no flaws in the optics. They have plastic lenses, like modern car headlights, so I'm not worried about that. The installation took about 30 minutes, the box has everything you need except for the adapter ring. There are no instructions, but I don't think they're really needed to connect the light, or at least I hope so. I ordered the recommended adapter ring from Sunpie and everything went smoothly. The lights come with an H4 to H13 adapter for modern Harleys and have an H4 connector on the end for older ones. There is also a lightning protection module in the box (at least I assume the cable has a built in box that reads the ECM). Not sure if this was necessary but there was a foam ring around my old auxiliary lights which I removed and wrapped around the LEDs to protect them from vibration a bit as some reviews said they were prone to loosening be. Inside. The only extra work aside from the installation and wiring was that I installed spade connectors on the ends of the auxiliary lighting wires so I didn't have to change the standard wiring, which is as simple as removing the included adapter and crimping the blade on the end. , and connect. They look great on the bike and are MUCH brighter than my factory halogen bulbs. In a few weeks I'm going on a trip where I'll do 2000 miles in a few days. I'll let you know how you feel about my return and I'll try to post some pics as well. If you're looking for an upgrade to your factory headlight, I'd recommend trying it out. I've never had another LED light on anything so I can't compare the light output to Kuryakyn or Harley bulbs, but for the price I'm very happy. Update: I've had these lights for a while and have ridden in snow, rain, wind, you name it. They had no problems and I would definitely recommend them. I drove about 15000 km with it. One thing I noticed is that they are set as low as I can get and they are slightly higher. Maybe it's more of an adapter ring, but I just need to put a spacer in there and didn't. Nevertheless 5/5 stars for these lamps
