The reviews on this product startled me because I bought four packs before reading the customer reviews. But imagine my surprise that the pockets worked well. I used them on a trip to Aruba. I was careful not to tear the bag by zipping it up. I was able to reuse all my bags when I got home with no problems. I was able to fill two bags and put them in my carry-on, leaving room for toiletries. I prefer these compact bags over roll ups. I think I will buy more when I move to Europe because they saved a lot of space in my luggage. My only advice when using this product is to be extra careful when closing the pouch. I can see how the bag can tear when I use the plastic slider to close the bag. Just take your time, the air can only be squeezed out when the bag is closed and once that is done it is very easy to squeeze the air out - just try to use a hard surface when you are squeezing the air out and not in the bed. .
