Review on πŸ“· Canon EOS Rebel SL1 Digital SLR with 18-55mm STM Lens: Powerful Photography Companion by Samuel Lewis

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Excellent entry-level DSLR

I have my Revain in mind Bought 3 years ago and I'm still using it and we still have a lot to learn. Once you delve as deeply into this camera as you can (and I'm still scratching the surface), you'll find that you're learning so much about cameras and photography in general. I shot in RAW, there was no time. It probably wasn't the wisest approach, but I'm impatient to the point of impatience and tend to learn in fits and starts to often take a few steps back before moving forward. But this camera gives you more margin for user error, delivering quality images despite the photographer's missteps. I haven't had any technical issues with the camera, it seems fairly reliable although I've never seriously dropped it (always on a forgiving fault). surface, not pavement or other hard ground). But it was used on the beach and in the city, in the rain and in the bitter Chicago cold on a windy day. I took a few shots with the kit lens but ended up buying a 50mm lens and a 55-250 IS lens. Lens without the STM function. I also bought Lightroom 5 and use it to edit all my photos, raw or JPG. I think this is a great educational camera and you will be happy with your purchase. Hopefully with the release of the SL2 it will be a lot cheaper soon. I have included several photos in this review. The first photos of Chicago were taken in 2015. Then some beach photos from 2017. They were all taken with a whale lens and edited in Lightroom.
