Excruciating chronic pain has kept me in bed for a long time, and it was difficult for me to reach the switch on my large bedside lamp. Sounds like a small problem, but when you're in pain, such small things become much bigger problems. So I'm thrilled I took the risk of buying this push button switch! It was packaged well and the quality of the switch and fabric covered cord is like something out of a high end lighting store. The knob itself has a thin piece of silicon on the underside to keep it from slipping and damaging the countertop (optional keyhole for wall mounting). Because it's so well made, pressing the Shift key is the most satisfying feeling - my family members love waking up and pressing the key. Sounds weird, but you'll probably love it too! Now I'm trying to think of other places I could use a push button switch! So great! There's a faint click when the button is pressed, but it's actually quieter than flipping a switch on a standard desk lamp, so you don't need to worry. If this bothers you, no one in the room should wake up. Since my nightstand's surface is valuable real estate, so to speak, I decided to install a button on the side of the nightstand using a medium-sized Command adhesive strip on the back of the button and clear Command cord clips to keep the cord nice and tidy to hold (see photo). Because the switch is on the side, you won't see it unless you look for it. And it's easier for me to get, so it was worth taking 5 minutes to "install" with removable adhesive. If you decide to use glue to attach the button, remember that NOTHING will stick to the silicone, so you must first remove the small silicone pad from the back of the button and then wipe the surface with alcohol. I saved the silicone pad in case I ever decide to use the switch elsewhere (I just put blue masking tape on the sticky side of the pad and stashed it in a drawer). I laugh at myself for taking the time to write a review for something so insignificant, but sometimes it's the little things that make our lives better. I paid full price for this at Revain and received no discount or reward for writing this review. I find reviews helpful, so I take the time to share my experience with others in return. I'll update my review if anything changes (I gave 5 stars for durability as it's so well made I'd be shocked if it didn't last long) but for now I'd say it does Best is what I've ever had. Bought from Revain after a while!
