I cannot describe how efficient and effective this collar is. We have an area where our dog can run and he is a power dog breed. Also, we rescued her when she was about a year old. Taken together, these facts mean that we needed serious intervention. She has the power of a freight train and the speed of a cannonball. When excited, she will dash across the terrain in wide circles, then run at full speed towards her target and crash into it. Everything we tried didn't work, which is very dangerous for children, skinny people, knees and hips. We had a different collar but the response time wasn't instant meaning we didn't delete the correct behavior. Also, it had no range. The inefficient one cost me about $80 or so. I watched a few YouTube videos on how to use it and a guy who taught Rottie helped me a lot. He showed how to see what kind of environment draws the dog's attention without hurting him. Larry Someone-so-and-so. I also watched other videos on unpacking and setting up the collar - it was very helpful. The clicker on this collar goes up to a hundred, but I've never gone over 8. I used 8 when it occurred to her to attack car tires, which is deadly, terribly bad behavior. I used 4 on her when she was too rough with the cat and wanted to disturb the chicks - you can imagine chasing chicks would be great fun for a dog but not chicks. This collar has been a wonderful blessing to our family. Now we have a well-behaved, happy dog who is a valuable member of our family.
