Since most of us inexperienced "old analog" folks want to clean the battery posts or replace the battery entirely, I did just that, not realizing I was going to lose all the automatic (computer) settings in the car . such as seats, mirrors, transmitter memory! Even shifting the automatic transmission (the computers learn how you drive and "adjust" them to your driving style after a while) is affected. Anyway, 30 minutes of research and I had this unit on hand for the next ride in such a "battery" scenario. memory saver. I have a townhouse and am having a hard time connecting a 100ft extension to the converter so I just bought a jump and carry battery jumper that has a 12v cigarette lighter socket! Voila, no more hassles and if you need to remove the battery it's incredibly easy to use. The indicator lights on the Schumacher set this device apart from many other similar and cheap offerings. I've had it for almost two years now and it works flawlessly for me. My wife and I are retired and going to the Caribbean in the winter so both car batteries don't usually get charged when we come back! Anyway, I bought a separate battery, which I "charge" at home, so when we return, fortunately, there is enough energy in the car battery to save the information and settings of the computers, BUT not enough to run the engine to turn on . So my Schumacher OBD II and DC power supply comes out so I can change the batteries and my Infiniti starts right up while the other (freshly removed) car battery starts the slow deep jet charging recovery. Honestly, while it doesn't seem like much, having all my settings saved, especially the seat and mirror settings, saves me a lot of trouble! Just buy boys (and girls---must be politically correct) and thank me later! Believe me, this will be the best coin you've ever spent! I spend a small fortune to buy and use stuff here, so if this review was helpful...you know what to do!? Thank you fellow users!
