These are by far the best boots I have worn in my 20 years in the military 1) They are a bit heavier than tennis shoes so very light you wear tennis shoes but you have still the ankle support of the boot. 3) Extremely durable, I bought my first pair almost 3 years ago. I still wear them compared to other boots I've had that have burned me in two years from healing and kicking. These boots are still going strong. 4) They don't need to be worn for a long time. Again, it's almost like tennis shoes, they're instantly comfortable. Just lace up and go. Maybe put them on a few days before backpacking or a long hike. To be honest, there is one thing that bothers me about these boots. The boots have grommets roughly where the foot meets the ankle that "locks" the laces in case the boot comes loose or something like that. First, you do NOT have to thread the laces through these grommets, but if you do (at least on my foot) it will cause some discomfort. So I took the laces out of those eyelets after a few days. There is no more discomfort, but the eyelets remain.
