I only had to throw one out. All but two don't fit any of the 1/4" bolts in my opinion. This is because they cut a groove in the bottom after the internal thread and left a burr. Just find a 1/4" male which is longer than these things and wear it top to bottom.This will clean the threads and you can tighten them with your fingers.One other thing - I was skeptical about the thread height being enough for the job - the thread on the outside of the 3/8" is only about 60%. But that's more than enough. And they're made of high quality stainless steel, although they're not magnetic (it's all about strength, not magnetism).
