Review on πŸ’‘ Globe Electric Recessed Push N Click 90958 - Efficient Lighting Solution for Modern Spaces by Brittany Johnson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Nice looking 4 " recessed downlights are a great match for the new 120 degree GU10 LEDs

I bought 20 of these downlights for general main floor lighting. I have used 10 in a 15 x 17 area (plus ceiling fan in the centre) and 9 in a 10 x 13 kitchen and there is enough light if you use a 5w GU10 LED bulb with a 120 beam angle degrees and dimmable 3000 K use . The main thing is a spread of 120 degrees so that there are no shadows and spots. (If that's what you want). Good quality. When you first open them you might think they are pretty cheap, but they are very well made and look great installed. Slew no more than 15 degrees to each side and only for minor adjustments, not for sloped steel ceilings. I had two problems. First, they have ribs that hold them to the ceiling at a 90-degree angle to the backbox. That is, if you are next to a bar, you need to turn it sideways. I would say you need at least 1-3/4" from the joist for this not to be a problem. In tight spaces, such as joists with piping or ducts, this is not an option. I ended up drilling the rivet out, rotated it 75-80 degrees and put in a screw to hold it in place. It worked fine although it seemed a little hacked. The second problem was that I had 4 plus wires going into the box I ended up buying a 1/2 extension and connecting this box to a standard square metal box via an extension and then running a set of wires between them This worked fine except you have to be careful when plugging it into the ceiling, as you have a very long assembly that almost curls up. When the LEDs are off there is no longer a need for 6" or 5" downlights. Very good product. Will buy 10 more for other areas.

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Not as thick as other options
