Review on SOVARCATE Darts Metal Tip Set by Christopher Sullivan

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good for beginners but broken

I bought SOVARCATE DartsPros 18g and 20g darts: 18g darts, I really like these darts and throw them pretty accurately for a beginner dart thrower. Barrel diameter 0.31 inch. (7.9mm) feels good in the hand and firing these 18g darts gives me good feedback on my throwing accuracy. 20 gram darts with a large shaft at the front ensure a stable finger position. Playing around the world and finishing 3 in the bull demonstrates the accuracy of these darts. See photos. As a darts beginner they feel comfortable and for me are more accurate than other darts I've tried. So much more accurate that with consistency I can see the bulkier face of the barrel (10mm at the thickest point) colliding with darts already thrown. My best bands can only be so tight with these darts. Sometimes the darts collide in such a way that the thrown dart sticks very askew and one of my throws completely bounces off the heavier front end of the other dart and never gets stuck. The rest of the barrel is a comfortable 8mm and I appreciate the texture of the full barrel grip. Cons: Quality Control: The first set I bought had a broken arrow and I returned it for a new set. See the middle bend in the second photo. The dimple treatment was repeated and additional dimples were added. The weight difference is 0.2 grams and it's just not up to spec. I think the tolerance on more expensive darts is +-0.05g. This defective dart seems to have a tendency to throw low. Packaging: A big disadvantage that SOVARCATE needs to improve is the packaging. The edges get caught in a clamp that damages the top coils and renders them virtually unusable, and I keep straightening the coils. Both sets of darts have the top part of the packaging slightly chewed off due to clips holding the blades. Sovarcate may want to redesign their packaging and review their quality control. Thank you for reading.
