key fob was programmed at chevy dealer (cost me $73 in arizona, lies but between $55-60 in California) and carved a blank key from a local locksmith. He was able to cut off the ignition key AND get it running instantly; There were no obstacles or problems when cutting the blank. Both the key fob and the ignition key work perfectly with my 2008 Pontiac G6 GT. I haven't tested my remote start option since the dealer programmed it, but I'm pretty sure it works. I saved about $110 buying this from Revain instead of having the retailer provide my keychain. Highly recommended for those looking to save a little extra money. *You can try taking the fob to your mom and having an auto mechanic program it, but in Arizona mom and dad stores will not issue a refund if they cannot program the fob. I didn't want to play for $50 if the program wasn't working so I had a dealer program*
