I love this toaster but it started to fail almost exactly the day after the one year warranty expired. Now when you turn it on, you can feel the smell of burnt plastic. It started without warning and nothing strange happened to this oven. Just normal everyday use - a couple of bagels or toast - nothing more. I took very good care of it, I really like its look and I wanted it to last. We now dare not use it for fear of starting a fire and inhaling toxic fumes. Very unfortunate - it's such a nice toaster oven - unfortunate the quality sucks. For the price I wouldn't recommend this. I've had toasters that took so long I got tired of them.
