My Maltese had a similar pup and I even took him to the beach. Now she doesn't need it at home but it provides a safe and cozy place when we visit family where two Great Danes can be a challenge for her. She gently pushes open the door to get in/out. It can also be rolled up and fastened with Velcro. She likes to have her own bowl of water and food in it, no competition! This purchase provided the perfect travel solution!
