Well now I know the other manufacturer's pump WAS really a piece of junk, glad I got it back. The other was REALLY loud, even at the lowest speed. Fantastically quiet even at MAXIMUM RPM. I hear bubbles gurgling more than the howling of a pump. Another pump also took hours and hours to empty the circuit, this one did it in 15 minutes. Every now and then a few bubbles get into the tank, but I'm guessing 98%+ of the air is missing. It's great after an hour at full speed, which you wouldn't have guessed unless the water level in the tank moved a bit. As soon as I put it back into PWM control mode, it's completely inaudible. It's quieter than in the room. He's worth his money.
